New device trial aims to save legs from amputation by sucking out blood clots
NCT ID NCT06747117
Summary
This study is testing a medical device called the Indigo Aspiration System, which works like a vacuum to remove dangerous blood clots from leg arteries. The goal is to restore blood flow quickly in patients with sudden leg pain, coldness, or numbness (acute limb ischemia) to prevent tissue damage and avoid amputation. Researchers will enroll 300 patients to see how safe and effective this clot-removal method is at saving the affected limb.
