First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special barbed stitch (Stratafix) is better than a standard stitch at preventing incisional hernias after large abdominal surgery in cancer patients. About 140 adults having surgery for tumors in the belly will be randomly assigned to one stitch type. The main goal is to see which stitch leads to fewer hernias and wound problems.
