First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study compares two types of stitches used to close the belly after large cancer surgeries. The goal is to see if a special barbed suture (Stratafix) can lower the chance of developing an incisional hernia compared to standard stitches. About 140 adults having surgery for tumors in the abdomen or for cancer spread will take part. The main focus is on how many people get a hernia within the follow-up period.
