Injection targets double chin fat without surgery
NCT ID NCT07677683
First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 study tests an investigational drug called STP705, given as injections under the chin, to reduce submental fat (double chin). Healthy adults aged 18 to 65 with moderate to severe submental fullness receive up to three treatment sessions over two months. The study evaluates how well the injections reduce fat and checks for safety and tolerability at three different dose levels.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
STP705
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a non-surgical option for reducing submental fat (double chin) with a simple injection procedure.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 2 study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Side effects like injection site reactions are possible, and the treatment may not produce noticeable fat reduction.
