Could a simple change in labor medication make birth safer for babies?

NCT ID NCT03991091

Summary

This study tested whether stopping the labor-inducing drug oxytocin once active labor begins could reduce health problems in newborns. It involved 2,459 women who were already receiving oxytocin early in labor. Researchers compared outcomes for mothers whose oxytocin was stopped at 6 cm dilation to those who continued receiving it as standard care.
