Doctors test 'Poop Transplant' to stop deadly gut infection from coming back

NCT ID NCT03562741

Summary

This study is testing if a stool transplant can cure people who keep getting repeat C. diff infections after antibiotics fail. Doctors take stool from a healthy donor and place it directly into the patient's colon during a colonoscopy. The goal is to restore the good gut bacteria that fight off C. diff, aiming for a long-term fix and fewer hospital visits.
