Stomach cancer surgery trial questions need for routine organ removal

NCT ID NCT05180864

Summary

This study is testing if surgeons can safely leave a protective abdominal tissue called the omentum in place during stomach cancer surgery, instead of removing it completely. Researchers want to see if this change is just as good for patient survival over three years and if it might lead to fewer complications after surgery. The trial will involve over 650 adults with operable stomach cancer.
