Large laos study tests simple stomach bug treatment to stop cancer

NCT ID NCT07340593

Summary

This study aimed to see if treating a common stomach infection (H. pylori) could help prevent stomach cancer in Laos. Over 1,200 adults from two provinces were tested for the bacteria. Those who tested positive received antibiotic treatment, and higher-risk participants also had a stomach exam to check for early signs of cancer.
