New hope for stomach cancer: drug combo tested in major trial

NCT ID NCT04882241

Summary

This study tested whether adding the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab to standard chemotherapy helps people with stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer. It involved 120 Chinese adults who hadn't received prior treatment, giving the drug combination both before and after surgery. Researchers measured whether this approach helped patients live longer without their cancer returning and checked for side effects.
