First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests a new technique that stimulates the entire cochlea using standard-length electrodes, potentially improving speech understanding and sound quality for people with cochlear implants. Researchers will enroll 40 adults who already qualify for a cochlear implant. The goal is to see if this approach helps the brain process sound better without the risks of longer electrodes.
