Do Pre-Birth steroids change a Preemie's blood?

NCT ID NCT07358845

Summary

This study looked at whether steroids given to mothers at risk of early delivery affect blood cell counts in their premature babies. Researchers analyzed blood tests from over 1,000 preterm infants to see if the timing and dose of the steroids changed levels of red blood cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. The goal is to better understand a common side effect to improve care for these vulnerable newborns.
