Back surgery breakthrough? steroid spray tested for faster pain relief

NCT ID NCT07411326

Summary

This study tested whether applying a steroid medication directly to the surgical area during a common back procedure helps patients recover with less pain. It involved 90 adults undergoing a specific type of minimally invasive surgery for a herniated disc in the lower back. Researchers compared pain and disability levels for three months between patients who received the steroid during surgery and those who did not.
