First major trial questions standard steroid use for scarring lungs
NCT ID NCT07210008
Summary
This study aims to find out if the steroid prednisolone is an effective first treatment for a scarring lung disease called fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis. It will compare the steroid against a placebo in 120 participants to see which one better slows the decline in lung function over six months. The goal is to provide clear evidence for or against a common treatment that currently lacks strong proof.
