Can a common steroid shield the brain after a delicate stent procedure?

NCT ID NCT07353749

Summary

This study aims to see if a short course of the steroid methylprednisolone can prevent strokes and other brain complications in the first month after patients receive a special 'flow diverter' stent to treat an unruptured brain aneurysm. About 864 adults scheduled for this procedure will be randomly assigned to receive either the steroid or a placebo (inactive substance) around the time of their surgery. The main goal is to compare how many people in each group suffer a stroke or brain injury-related death within 30 days.
