Could steroid eye drops speed healing of dangerous eye infections?

NCT ID NCT07308938

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a steroid eye drop (fluorometholone) to standard antibiotic treatment helps people with bacterial corneal ulcers recover better vision. Researchers will compare vision improvement at 3 months between patients receiving antibiotics plus steroids versus antibiotics alone. The trial involves 174 adults with mild to severe bacterial eye ulcers who have already started antibiotic treatment.
