Hidden diabetes risk from common steroids revealed by continuous monitors

NCT ID NCT07190378

Summary

This study aims to better understand and detect steroid-induced diabetes, a common side effect of steroid medications used for conditions like arthritis and cancer. Researchers will monitor 250 adults starting steroid treatment using continuous glucose sensors for 14 days to identify who develops diabetes and what patterns emerge. The goal is to improve early detection methods since current diabetes tests may miss steroid-related blood sugar problems.
