Testing a new lifesaving tool: when veins fail, doctors go straight to the bone

NCT ID NCT01853215

Summary

This study tested a special device designed to deliver fluids and medications directly into the breastbone when regular IV access is impossible, such as in emergencies. Researchers enrolled 24 healthy adult volunteers to see if the method was safe, how fast fluids could flow, and how easy the device was for medical staff to use. The goal was to gather information to improve this emergency technique for future patients in critical situations.
