First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether leaving out a ureteral stent after kidney stone surgery leads to less pain and fewer doctor visits compared to placing one. About 184 adults with kidney or ureteral stones will be randomly assigned to either get a stent or not after their procedure. The goal is to see if skipping the stent is just as good or better for patient comfort and recovery.
