New approach targets sticky bacteria on kidney stents
NCT ID NCT07301294
Summary
This study aims to see if combining an antibiotic with a mucus-dissolving agent can better reduce the sticky layer of bacteria (biofilm) that forms on temporary urinary stents. The stents are placed after surgery to break up kidney stones. Researchers will compare this combination to using the antibiotic alone or no treatment in 100 adult patients.
