New stent device tested to seal dangerous brain bulges
NCT ID NCT04566263
Summary
This study tested a medical device designed to help treat a specific type of brain aneurysm called a 'wide-neck' aneurysm. The device is a small mesh tube (stent) placed in the blood vessel to hold tiny coils inside the aneurysm, aiming to seal it off and prevent rupture. Researchers followed 30 adult patients for up to 4 years to see how well the treatment worked and to monitor their health.
