Stent scaffold boosts coil success for Wide-Neck brain aneurysms

NCT ID NCT04566263

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested a special stent system designed to help treat wide-neck brain aneurysms. These aneurysms have a large opening that makes it hard for standard coils to stay in place. The procedure involved placing a stent across the aneurysm neck to hold the coils inside, aiming to block blood flow and prevent rupture. The study included 30 adults with unruptured, wide-neck aneurysms.
