First-of-its-Kind stem cell trial offers hope for kids with rare lung damage
NCT ID NCT07239895
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a patient's own airway stem cells can help treat children with bronchiolitis obliterans, a rare and serious lung disease that often follows a severe infection. Researchers will give 12 children a single treatment and closely monitor their breathing, oxygen needs, and lung scans over time. The main goal is to see if the treatment is safe and if it might improve symptoms like coughing and wheezing.
