NCT ID NCT00683722

Summary

This study tested whether multiple infusions of a stem cell product called PROCHYMAL were safe and could help people with moderate to severe COPD. It involved 62 adults who were current or former heavy smokers. Researchers compared the stem cell treatment against a placebo to see if it improved lung function, reduced flare-ups, or helped patients feel better over two years.
