Fat cells to fight lung disease? trial tests Body's own repair kit

NCT ID NCT02946658

Summary

This study is testing whether stem cells taken from a patient's own body fat can be safely used to treat chronic lung diseases like COPD. Researchers will collect fat tissue, process it to get the stem cells, and then give them back to the patient through an IV. The main goal is to check for safety and see if this treatment can improve how well the lungs work and ease symptoms like shortness of breath.
