First-of-its-Kind trial tests stem cell shots for autism

NCT ID NCT07177677

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether stem cells taken from human bone marrow are safe to give to people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Researchers will give the cells through an IV to 42 participants aged 6 and older to look for any side effects and see if there are any early signs of improvement in social skills or behaviors. The main goal is safety, but they will also check if symptoms change over about two years.
