Scientists test Child's own cells as potential new therapy for autism

NCT ID NCT05307536

Summary

This study tested if a child's own bone marrow cells, given via a spinal injection, combined with educational therapy, could help control autism symptoms. It involved 54 children with moderate to severe autism, aged 3 to 7 years old. Researchers compared children who received the cell therapy plus education to those who received education alone to see if the cells improved social skills, behavior, and quality of life over a year.
