Body fat to heal gut? stem cell trial targets painful Crohn's complication

NCT ID NCT04612465

Summary

This study is testing whether stem cells taken from a patient's own body fat can help close painful tunnel-like openings (fistulas) caused by Crohn's disease. Doctors compare injecting these cells with a surgical glue to using the glue alone. The goal is to see which treatment is better at completely blocking these hard-to-heal wounds.
