Stem cell shot aims to heal Worn-Out knees

NCT ID NCT07339111

Summary

This study is testing whether a single injection of stem cells (CARTISTEM) works better than standard knee surgery to reduce pain and improve movement in people with knee cartilage damage and arthritis. About 300 adults who haven't gotten enough relief from other treatments like physical therapy or pain medication will receive either the stem cell injection or the standard surgical procedure. Researchers will track participants' pain levels and knee function for two years to see which treatment provides longer-lasting relief and may potentially slow down the arthritis.
