Stem cell patch aims to heal damaged hearts during bypass surgery

Summary
This early-stage study tests whether a patch made from human stem cells can help repair heart muscle in 16 people with severe, long-term heart failure who are already scheduled for bypass surgery. During the operation, half the participants will receive the stem cell patch placed directly on the heart, while the other half will get a placebo patch. The main goals are to check safety and see if the patch improves heart function.
