Breathe in repair: stem cell mist tested for damaged lungs

NCT ID NCT06986070

Summary

This is the first-ever study in humans to test whether inhaling a mist containing special stem cells is safe and could help repair damaged lungs in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Eighteen adults with mild to moderate COPD will breathe in the cell mist using a standard nebulizer machine over several days. The main goal is to check for any safety issues at three different dose levels before researchers can explore if this approach might help regenerate lung tissue.
