Stem cell shot in the eye offers hope for untreatable dry eye disease

NCT ID NCT06905834

Summary

This study is testing whether an injection of donor stem cells into the eye can help patients with severe, treatment-resistant dry eye caused by Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD). The trial will involve 30 participants who have not improved with standard eye drops and medications. Researchers aim to see if the stem cells can improve eye surface health, increase tear production, and reduce pain and discomfort.
