Scientists track patients for a decade after revolutionary stem cell eye treatment

NCT ID NCT03167203

Summary

This study is checking for any very late side effects in people who received an experimental stem cell transplant for macular degeneration more than five years ago. Researchers will contact 36 participants annually for up to 10 years (or for life in the UK) to ask about their health. The goal is to ensure the treatment is safe over the very long term by watching for specific health issues.
