Common heart drug could help cancer survivors swallow again

NCT ID NCT07217938

Summary

This trial is testing whether pravastatin, a medication typically used for high cholesterol, can help improve swallowing difficulties in people who had radiation treatment for head and neck cancer. The study will enroll 48 participants who will take the medication daily for one year while their swallowing function is monitored. Researchers want to see if this repurposed drug can reduce scarring and make swallowing easier for cancer survivors.
