Heart attack prevention trial for seniors with diabetes launches
NCT ID NCT07359105
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent first-time heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular events in adults aged 70 or older who have type 2 diabetes but no history of heart disease. It will compare a standard moderate-dose statin approach against a more personalized strategy that adjusts medication to hit specific cholesterol targets. The goal is to determine which method works better for keeping this older population heart-healthy.
