NCT ID NCT07098975

First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily dose of pravastatin, a common heart medication, can safely extend pregnancy in women diagnosed with severe early-onset placental insufficiency (preeclampsia or fetal growth restriction). About 154 pregnant women will receive either pravastatin or a placebo between 24 and 30 weeks of pregnancy. The goal is to see if the drug can delay delivery, reduce complications, and improve long-term health for both mother and baby.
