New gum patch could replace painful palate graft

NCT ID NCT07440303

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a ready-to-use collagen membrane (Star Matrix) against the standard gum graft taken from the roof of the mouth. The goal is to see if the new material can widen the band of firm, protective gum tissue just as well, but with less pain and shorter procedure time. Twelve adults with thin gum tissue on both sides of the lower jaw will receive both treatments and be followed for 6 months.
