First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study compares two techniques used during laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery to reduce the risk of bleeding after the operation. Researchers will test whether stitching the staple line (oversewing) or using surgical clips works better to prevent serious bleeding and the need for blood transfusions. The study will enroll 30 adults who qualify for weight-loss surgery and follow them for 30 days after the procedure.
