Scientists probe Staph's role in worsening eczema flares
NCT ID NCT04274348
Summary
This study aimed to understand how common skin bacteria (staphylococci) and their toxins might worsen eczema and lead to related skin infections like eczema herpeticum. Researchers enrolled 41 adults with moderate to severe eczema to compare samples from their affected skin and blood with samples from healthy skin. The goal was to gather knowledge about the immune system's response, not to test a new treatment.
