First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study aims to see if using a standard method for cervical ripening (preparing the cervix for labor) increases the chance of a vaginal delivery. Researchers will compare two approaches: one using a balloon catheter alone, and another combining the catheter with a medication called misoprostol. About 1,158 pregnant women at 37 weeks or later will take part.
