First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety of an experimental injection called STA363 for people with sciatica from a herniated (slipped) disc in the lower back. 25 participants received a single injection of either STA363 or a placebo directly into the problem disc. Researchers monitored patients for six months to see if the treatment was safe, if it reduced the size of the disc herniation, and if it relieved leg pain.
