New back injection aims to shrink painful disc bulges

NCT ID NCT06022263

Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety of an experimental injection called STA363 for people with sciatica caused by a herniated disc in the lower back. Twenty-five participants received either the STA363 injection or a placebo directly into the problem disc. Researchers monitored for side effects and checked if the treatment reduced the size of the disc bulge and eased leg pain over six months.
