First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new daily disposable contact lens called ST-1 against an existing lens, Miru 1day UpSide, in 63 people with nearsightedness. Participants will wear the lenses daily for 3 months and have their vision and eye comfort checked regularly. The goal is to see if the new lens works as well or better for correcting vision and keeping eyes comfortable.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
ST-1 silicone hydrogel daily disposable soft contact lenses
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that ST-1 lenses are a safe and effective option for daily myopia correction, offering similar or better comfort and vision than existing lenses.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 63 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. There is always a risk of discomfort or eye health issues with contact lenses.
