Paratroopers' jaw muscles under the microscope: splint study reveals surprising findings
NCT ID NCT07523984
First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at whether wearing a sports mouthguard changes how jaw muscles work and how the neck moves in adult skydivers. Nineteen professional paratroopers had their muscle activity and neck motion measured with and without the splint. The goal was simply to observe any differences, not to treat or prevent any condition.
