New Spleen-Sparing surgery tested to boost immunity in liver patients

NCT ID NCT07205471

Summary

This study is comparing two types of minimally invasive spleen surgery for people with advanced liver disease. Researchers want to see if removing only part of the spleen, instead of the whole organ, helps patients' immune systems recover better after surgery. They will measure blood counts, immune markers, and liver function in 30 patients for up to a year to find out which approach leads to better outcomes.
