Scientists probe the Spleen's secret role in fighting blood diseases
NCT ID NCT06418256
Summary
This study aims to better understand how the spleen works to filter abnormal blood cells, which is important for diseases like malaria. Researchers will study spleens donated by 100 adult patients who are having them surgically removed for medical reasons. They will test how the spleen reacts to different substances and diseased cells in a lab setting to learn about its role in immunity and disease.
