Study tests which pain block works best after back surgery

NCT ID NCT07245524

Summary

This study compared two different pain control techniques for patients having spinal fusion surgery. Researchers observed 50 patients to see whether injecting morphine into the spinal fluid or using a nerve block in the back muscles provided better pain relief after surgery. The goal was to determine which method reduced pain more effectively and lowered the need for additional opioid pain medication in the first 24 hours after the operation.
