New gel aims to prevent painful scarring after back surgery
NCT ID NCT06369233
Summary
This study is testing whether a new anti-scar gel called MegaShield-SP works as well as an existing gel (Guardix-SP Plus) at preventing painful scar tissue from forming after spine surgery. The research involves 80 adults who have had surgery for a herniated disc or spinal stenosis. Doctors will apply one of the gels during surgery and then track recovery through MRI scans and pain questionnaires over 12 weeks.
