Finding the best dose to reduce blood loss in major back surgery

NCT ID NCT07288697

Summary

This study tested two different doses of a medication called tranexamic acid (TXA) to see which works better at controlling bleeding during major spinal fusion surgery. It involved 62 adults having surgery on three or more vertebrae in their mid-to-lower back. Researchers measured how much blood patients lost during surgery and whether they needed a blood transfusion, aiming to find the safest and most effective dose.
