Can a secret spinal implant outsmart chronic pain?

NCT ID NCT06585033

Summary

This study is testing if a hidden spinal cord stimulator is truly effective for people with chronic leg pain after back surgery. Fifty participants will have a device implanted and will unknowingly receive either real stimulation or a fake (sham) treatment for several months to see which one better reduces pain. The goal is to find out if the pain relief from these devices is real or partly a powerful placebo effect.
