Spinal implant trial aims to restore movement after paralysis

NCT ID NCT05644171

Summary

This study is testing whether a surgically implanted spinal cord stimulator, combined with advanced robotic rehabilitation, can help improve movement and body functions in people with long-term, severe spinal cord injuries. Researchers are recruiting 18 adults who have been paralyzed for over a year to receive the implant and intensive therapy. The main goal is to see if this combined approach is safe and can help patients regain some voluntary control of movement, blood pressure, and bowel/bladder function.
